School Health

West Carroll feels it is important to meet the needs of the whole child. Healthy children are better able to learn. The following programs at West Carroll help develop healthy children:

  • Instruction in health education
  • School lunch and breakfast programs
  • Planned physical education programs for all children taught by certified physical education teachers
  • Healthy school environment that meets all state and local safety codes
  • School counseling, psychological and social services
  • Health services.

Lisa Kapeller, our school nurse, coordinates the health services portion of the healthy child program. Email Ms. Kapeller at kapellerl1@k12tn.net. She has an office at each school during scheduled times unless an emergency calls her to one of the other schools.
